Peepshow Video

March 13, 2010 § Leave a comment

I created this video using footage taken at various (The) Dead Reckoning gigs, footage filmed on my compact camera or iPhone whilst on tour, clips of old Mutoscope machines found on Southport Pier and footage from The Dead Reckoning’s 2009 Mighty Sounds Festival appearance in the Czech Republic (thanks to Emma at for sending me the Mighty Sounds footage).

The Dead Reckoning recorded the music for this video with Paul A. Yeadon (Bivouac, The Wireless Stores) and Johnny A. Carter (Pitchshifter) at their studio –

This track along with the other two tracks recorded in the same session are available for download at iTunes –

Whilst preening my hard drive ready for the new year I unearthed this early design I did for a band called My Awesome Compilation a few years back. The project never came to fruition which I thought a shame so I figured I’d share it here.

The Night Marchers Gig Poster.

This poster (at the time of writing) is for an upcoming gig that I’m co-promoting with the other members The Dead Reckoning. The booking agent contacted us quite ‘late in the day’ so I didn’t have a great deal of time to produce the poster. With this in mind I decided to revisit some owl sketches I’d done when designing the Buzzkill Driven By Loss album art.

The Dead Reckoning Video

I made this video by editing footage from the 1916 Charlie Chaplin film The Vagabond so that it complimented the song The Chase by my current band The Dead Reckoning. The opening titles are pastiches of the original movie titles.

The Ammuntion Affair

After seeing the logo I designed for The Magnificent, Matt from L.A. garage rock band The Ammunition Affair emailed me to ask if I could design a logo for his band. The band’s sound is quite influenced by that of 60s mod bands and my intention was to try and reference that era visually in the typographic style. The Ammunition Affair’s MySpace page can be found here.

Firewheel Books Logo

This was a simple web-site I put together for a new alternative book company.

I was also commissioned to rework their logo to a much simpler design without losing any of the symbolism contained within it.
